1| Booming Red

And the rocket’s red glare was not ignored because red is the ultimate statement color. Color your kitchen walls red for a strong energy with a white base to place red accessories. A bright white as a neutral will make your reds pop and create a crisp red apple look. To balance out the robust red, use wooden textures for staple pieces like tables and chairs. It complements the red and avoids being too matchy.

2| By the Dawn’s Pearly Whites

Oh, say can you see that white is the go-to neutral for now and forever? You can use white as a background color to help balance the other colors in the room. However, white can also be a statement color with a little know how. To use white as a dramatic focal point, place a large and ornately patterned frame or mirror on a velvety dark navy-blue wall with minimal decor. This creates an intense contrast that creates the dramatic touch and no distractions from the main piece.

3| Home of the Brave Blue

This daring color is not only meant for the brave, but for anyone that loves cool blue. Blue is so versatile that it can be used as a statement, accent, or neutral (depending on the hue). Feel free to use blue for all three roles at once. You can achieve this color palette by using a dramatic deep blue as a statement color in large pieces like a couch, rug, or mantle. A softer and muted blue is underwhelming, so it can be used in large amounts as a neutral. A bright sharp blue like cobalt works great as an accent piece like pillows or wall tiles.

4| Stars and Stripes, Baby

Whose broad stripes and bright stars could be so stylish? Stars and stripes work anywhere, so it will work in all rooms. Take advantage of these multipurpose patterns by using it on common textiles like blankets and pillows or place it to accent your wall. If you’re feeling creative, use a life guard floaty as wall décor and as another excuse to use stripes.
